Garage door won't open?
The most likely problem is that you have a broken spring. Your gargage door spring(s) act to counter-balance the weight of your door.
Garage doors can weigh in at a few hundred pounds. The spring "counters" that weight with tension to balance things out... so you (or your automatic door opener) don't have to lift that kind of weight.
NEVER TRY TO LIFT A DOOR THAT HAS A BROKEN SPRING!! It's a dangerous amount of weight to lift and if you do manage to get the door up, it's very likely to fall, causing serious injury, and/or property damage! Your opener is not designed to open doors with broken springs. Parts will fail causing major damage to your opener. Should the door break free from the opener connections (very likely with the amount of weight being lifted) the door will fall closed causing major damage and/or injury.
